Perseids in Shropshire, anyone?

Recommended Posts

I've asked a campsite owner if they can keep this corner of the field free for astronomers on Friday 11th & Saturday 12th August, the height of the Perseids. I took this photo last night...

I've booked the spot where the tent is. There'll be room for quite a few campers, it's only £7.00 a night, so I'm hoping I'll get a few people along. The site's nearest town is Craven Arms, which is about four mile away. There's no electricity in this field, so it should be quite dark. I'm not looking to plan an official 'star party', this is more a case of 'I'll be here with a couple of scopes, (a 10" Dob & and 8" EQ), and if anyone wants to join me...'  I'll save them a spot, get in touch via my blog in my sig.
It's a nice friendly site with toilets & showers etc, and there's a pub in walking distance, perchance of clouds!
