Should I swap my 3 mid-power EP's for a zoom ?

Just keep a few of the TV plossls plus one Powermate Derek. They will show 98% of the stuff that the other eyepieces will, at the same quality and all fit into a small case.

Now if only I could listen to my own advice !

Powermates:

• TV 2" 2x
• TV 1.25" 2.5x
• TV 1.25" 5x

 

 

Rationally, I would keep: 

• OO UK VX12 F4
• one among OO UK VX6 F11, Altair Starwave 152, Skywatcher Evo 150 OR replace all of them with a SW 120ED (just to stay in theme  )
• Lunt 50 Ha
• one between Pronto 70 or TV-60 for airplane travelling

Keep: 

• TV Ethos 21mm
• TV Ethos 17mm   (?)
• TV Ethos 13mm
• TV Ethos 8mm
• TV Panoptic 35mm
• TV Panoptic 24mm
• TV Plossl 55mm  (?)
• TV Plossl 32mm
• TV Plossl 25mm  (?)
• TV Plossl 20mm
• TV Plossl 15mm
• TV Plossl 11mm

Keep:

• TV 2" 2x

But then, we knotw that "rationally" doesn't work..

You could just loan most of it out and see which ones you miss the most! You know like a library.

What's this decadent stuff about 7 pairs of socks? One pair on, a pair in the drawer and a  pair in the wash. OK another pair to double up in my wellies. Eyepieces though are a different matter altogether, basic simple essential needs have to be met.
