Skywatcher st80

Recommended Posts

ADM do finder rings and fittings that will fit an ST80. I use them to fit an ED80 to my C9.25. It makes an excellent deep sky finder, but, I keep the original finder too as the ED80 has quite a small field of view, even with a 2" LVW 42mm (5°).

The only thing to be aware of with a Dob is balance. You will need counterweights to offset the weight of the ST80 + rings.

I use 80mm finders on my large Newtonian Dobs, they are fitted near to the ALT pivot so balance is a minor issue. On a 200P I think the balancing would be a problem and might negate the advantage of the 80mm.   :icon_biggrin:
