Jupiter mini animation, 07/04/2017

Recommended Posts

As we were blessed by a wonderful weather, right during Jupiter's opposition, I had quite some fun taking some RGB images using my little 5" maksutov scope.

This is an animaton of 4 frames, each one of roughly 1000 frames per channel.

Equipment:

Celestron Nexstar SLT 127

ZWO ASI 178mm

ASI RGB filters + manual filter wheel

Recording software: Planetary Imager (see my signature)

Processing: Autostakkert!2, Registax (wavelets only), Siril (RGB align), GIMP (final processing and animation)

These are (imho) the best two frames of the animation, to give you a better view of the visible features (I hope it doesn't count as a "multiple submission of the same image").

We can clearly see the southern white ovals, and the small red spot
