Europa shadow transit 03-04-2017

[U Cyg]

A short animation of the end of the shadow transit.  14 frames between 23:35 and 00:09.  No real processing done, wavelets in Registax then into PIPP to make the animation.

I caught most of the transit but the seeing ruined the earlier captures, luckily it started to settle as the shadow was rotating off the disk.

That's really good, I was observing the transit, and the seeing was in reverse for me, I had great views

to begin with, but half way the thin cloud obscured Europa, but the shadow was still easily observed, 

thank's for posting, great work.

I've never observed a transit in real so it's great to see this animation. I'll have to look out for this in the future. The details are so sharp, brilliant.

I think there is a transit of Io starting in about 10 minutes - if you have clear skies!
