Earthshine 02-04-17

Working again today but to my delight we have clear skies again. Not staying out late as hoping to get some early solar action tomorrow on my first day of annual leave.

However, I couldn't resist a bit of lunar. The data is processing but I also snagged a heavily exposed single frame  to get the last of the earthshine this month.

This is 1/10s @ ISO 100 shot RAW. Lots of processing in Photoshop. In the RAW editor I adjusted the levels/black/white/contrast, removed CA, did some NR and increased saturation. In Photoshop proper I sharpened a little and a slight curves adjustment.

Clear skies.

Cracking shot.

Last night was the first aided view of earthshine for me. I was astounded by the amount of detail I could discern even within the shadow zone. The Moon is a fantastic target isn't it?
