Sensor cleaning - another permacloud project

Well, nothing else to do, so I thought I'd take a stab at cleaning my Starlight Xpress Ultrastar and Lodestar cameras, which, for some reason, had become uncommonly dirt-laden.  I was very anxious about this, having read so much in the past about not cleaning optics.  However, the instructions here https://www.sxccd.com/maintenance_info/Cleaning.pdf seemed very straight-forward.  I bought some DSLR cleaning swabs (frighteningly expensive for what they are ~£28 for 10) but declined the cleaning fluid recommended by the camera shop (~£15 for 50ml) and instead went to the local pharmacist and got some pure acetone (as suggested in the above cleaning instructions) for the princely sum of £1.50!

Happy to report that all went swimmingly well, as show by the before/after shots below, taken with a crude pinhole in front of each sensor.  Hope this may be reassuring to others contemplating the same.

...now just need to decide what to do about the dust bunnies from elsewhere...
