Knight of Clear Skies
Could someone recommend me a simple FITS viewer/browser please? First light for my 1600MM Cool tonight and would like to check through my subs before stacking (saw a weird spiralling line on one as it came in in Sharpcap). geordie85
I used DSS to check my fits files. That's how I found out all of my subs from an entire nights imaging were ruined due to weird black lines running through them. I always shoot using tiff now

SilverAstro
Gimp 2.9.x and IrfanView (nice simple little quicky freeware viewer) is supposed to do it with a plug-in but I've not used it on FITS
Marky1973
Not used it much, but another vote for Fits Liberator - lots of info and easy to use
ollypenrice
I look at my FITS in AstroArt. I can save them unmolested as TIFFS in there, too. If you want a fast stacking and calibrating software for you large and numerous ASI files I suspect you'd be hard put to beat AstroArt. It is incredibly fast.
