Venus 1.6% phase, just for the record

Another extremely small window again this evening, to be honest I think the best has passed for Venus. The changes are tiny from 3% and smaller and these seem to be negated by the worsening imaging conditions. Not sure the image really offers anything from the last image, but its one for the record.

The usual set up of C9.25/Asi120mm + X1.8 Barlow and Astronomik 807 filter.

Great shot. Keep going until the big "O".

A bit different of what I saw with my binoculars 8x42mm this dusk.

At naked eye this it looked a bit flat, a tiny stick. I if is possible to see the "horns".

Well done Pete.  I chucked mine away tonight, it was terrible up here.

Visually it looks much better through the C9.25, not really been able capture anything near the view I see through the scope. Its a very thin slither, if I get another chance I might try at the native focal length as well.

Nice record Pete, doesn't matter if it's passed its best, it's a good record to have.

At conjunction Venus will still be 1% illuminated, some 8 deg from the Sun.

From the high Arctic, Venus will be circumpolar right through conjunction.

Anyone up for an imaging or observing challenge?   

Only got 4 days to get there though.
