Hello everyone.

Just joined this incredible site and hoping to get to know you all. Also hoping for advice and techniques.

I have been fascinated by the night sky since I was 7 and have recently bought a Skywatcher 8" dobsonian, which I've only been able to use once, darn clouds! In the past I've had 4" scopes and I have to say that the resolution difference with my dob was breathtaking!

I am also trying to get into astrophotography but don't have the budget to buy everything required, so making do for the time being.

M13 blew me away ?

Wishing you all, clear skies.

Hi and welcome to SGL - If you are thinking of astro imaging then you will be well advised to get hold of the book 'Making Every photon Count' - Available from the book section of the FLO website. It's an imaging bible and will really help you in the long run.

Look forward to seeing you around :)

Welcome to SGL. It's a really friendly board on here, plenty of good advice and members tend to give a heads-up about equipment for sale before it goes to ABS

Some of us even watch the clouds when there are no clear skies to be had!
