Lovely image Steve,and you know there is still something about a mono image,that even colour cant beat.

We discard mono too easily these days.

This is beautiful.....just look at all that wispy gas detail :-)

Really nice! Short exposures sure can give a lot of details.

Curious though, when you stacked it, did you try sigma clipping? With that many subs  there would probably be no trace of the hot pixels or satellites, but i don't know if it have any side effect when stacking so many short subs?

never thought about that tbh

 

if not i will get so darks next time i run the blackfly

 

i might have another go and see if I can sort the trap out a bit better

That's looking good Steve - The detail is great.... with 440 subs and the right stacking algorithm I would have expected the satellite trail to have been dealt with though.
