Out of the shadows that is!!

Hello everyone,

Thought i`d better introduce myself before I bombard you with stupid questions  .

I`m John, I`ve had a keen interest astronomy for years and last year managed to get myself a telescope.

I had a great time finding my way around the night sky and have been amazed at some of the sights.. i.e. nearly fainted at my first view of Saturn and was dancing a jig the first time i saw M81 ansd M82 together in the eyepiece.....and many more.

Unfortunately due to personal circumstances i`ve been scopeless for a while but am just getting a rig sorted out which comprises a new HEQ5 ( thanks Steve @ FLO ) mount and a Meade 6" refractor. Just awaitng arrival of OTA and need a couple more bits and bobs but i`ll be up and running again in a couple of weeks... Cant wait! :hello2:

This site has already helped me make contact with my local astro club (Hereford) which Until recently I didn`t even know existed! Thanks for that SGL :thumbright:

I should also mention i`m a member of Astro chat and like to say hi to anyone here from over there

I`ve read through loads of posts already and look forward to taking part in this friendly forum....

A big hello,

John

Well, what a warm welcome! Thankyou everyone.

Cant believe this weather but as soon as I get set up and there is a break in the rain/clouds, I shall post a first light report on my new gear.....

That`ll be a while then!

Hello & welcome John.

That rig of yours is gonna be sweeeeet!

I've been trying to post a first light report for a week now, closest I got was setting up and then watching a dirty great cloud hide everything... :hello2:

Good luck.

Rick
