Adapter t2 external/1.25 inch internal

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anybody know where I can buy an adapter that has a t2 thread on the outside and a 1.25 inch internal thread? Can't find one anywhere. I have a nosepiece that is perfect but I would have to chop it in half and I would probably ruin the threads in the process.

The adapter would look exactly like that end of the nosepiece. So a thin ring with t2 outside, 1.25 internal.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I can't tell from the picture if it has an external t2 thread, reading from the description I get the impression you need a male t2 adapter as well to screw into the bottom of that adapter half way. The other side of the adapter is the 1.25 thread. I thought this would be a pretty common thing! I'm just trying to get a single filter as close to the sensor as possible

External thread is T2, internal is 1.25"

This might not solve your requirements but I was stuck with a similar issue and found this site really chocked full of adaptors ?

I have one of the above on the way from USA... Couldn't find similar anywhere else. Dispatch was swift and they were really helpful. May have what you are seeking if other routes draw a blank...

That is the adapter I was trying to search for earlier today, good find. Pretty pricey though as it would carry import tax into the UK as over 15GBP

True... But when needs must... :icon_biggrin:

We need a tame machinist who will do custom work, milling, drilling, tapping specialising variable diameter work, with a rapid turn around, and low prices :)

Any ideas?

Hope it works out well please share as I may get one too. I don't mind paying the tax what I object to is the Post Office handling charge this was £11 for a £1.36 tax duty on a recent US order.

I feel your pain. I got clobbered for a recent shipment of Lumicon Filters. Even with a mate packaging them and stating "used telescope parts" and a more representative second hand value I'm nursing a missing "pound of flesh".

Still, I'm still way ahead compared to buying them here :hello2:

Yep, just paid £36 total for a 10mm piece of aluminium with 2 different threads on it. Adapters really are overpriced

The adapter arrived safely after the usual mugging by Royal Mail. Anyway, I'm disappointed to say, while it's nicely put together it doesn't suit my needs. I wanted to use it to sit between my filter wheel and WO 1.25" diagonal.

The thread pitch on the front of the diagonal with the nose piece removed is much "coarser" than the "fine" thread on the adapter !!

Adapter fits the filter wheel perfectly...

Do you need one like I require ? Or would fine pitch on the 1.25" male side do for you ?

Having been experimenting with a 1.25" Barlow today and looking at 2" Barlows online many of these come with 1.25" adapters, it might be worth looking at a 2" Barlow with adapter to see if you could take it appartto get what you need?
