New lens bargain

I have just picked up a Paragon 500mm f8 M42 telephoto lens from the local secondhand shop for £4.99. It is in mint condition with perfect optics. I don't know if it will be any good for astro photography but at that price I had to have it. I have tried it on my new Canon 60D and in daytime use it seems very good. If I don't use it for AP then it should be fun for wildlife photography.

Nice, could be good for grab and go Lunar (solar with correct filter).

Yes, should be good for Lunar - should have a bit more reach than my £10 charity shop PrinzGalaxy 400mm f6.3. I find stacking 50+ single frames works best.

I had a Paragon lens many years ago for my Pentax MX 35mm. Couldn't afford Pentax or Vivitar lenses, pick it up new for £30 and it was a cracking lens. Had it for 25 years and it never let me down. Enjoy it whatever you do with it.
