On the solar hazards - some 8" tube covers (like mine) have a pair of 2" round protrusions on them. One of these pulls off to reveal an offset 2" hole. As far as I am aware, this is intended for use with a solar filter, so that the aperture is stopped down from 8" to 2" by a stop that won't fall off. You just have to make a small filter to cover the 2" hole.
