Help with Keith's image stacker

Anybody have any tips on Keith's image stacker? When I align my frames it always aligns part of the frame but not others, like it is stretching the image in some way. I know there are better stackers out there, but I am not willing to spend much money right now, and I'm a Mac user

The problem may be that it doesn't stretch the image at all. Due to field curvature, misaligned images may need to be stretched. Another possibility is that only stars in one side of the image are used, and not the other?

Yes it seems to only align the stars that are close to your object of interest. Another problem I have had is that it will only align 5 frames at a time, no matter what I do.

Why not use Deep Sky Stacker wrapped in Wineskin on your Mac.

Its free and it works.

Yea that actually sounds like a better option, but can DSS stack planetary images?

DSS does not do a good job with planetary images.  Its better to use PIPP and autostakkert.  You can also run them in a wineskin wrapper  on a MAC.

Ok thanks so much, DSS is so much easier to use than Kieths Image Stacker.
