February 15, 2017: 55-pane H-alpha mosaic

Quite surprised how easily this lot stitched, but even more at how much prom activity was visible in the part inverted shots. I have begun to use 200 out of 1000 frames stacked, which gives a bit better results in terms of signal to noise, without losing sharpness, as far as I can see.

Clicking for full resolution highly recommended. I have some detail shots which will be processed and posted later

Very nice images Michael.

I am very much a newbie at this lark- what equipment did you use for this?

Cheers, Swoop! I use an APM 80mm F/6 triplet with front-mounted energy-rejection filter (ERF, mine is a triple-band Beloptik type, which transmits bands around H-alpha, the Solar Continuum band, and Ca-K), a Baader 4x Tele-Centric lens, a Solar Spectrum 0.3 Å  H-alpha filter, and an ASI174MM camera.
