Why does the Ep holder unscrew from sw Explorer 130

This has confused me since I got the telescope and can't find anything in the manual for it. Is it just how the focuser is assembled or does it have another purpose?

Just the way these are made. Most focusers assemblies have a similar arrangement. You can also get an adapter to screw directly onto most focusers so you can attatch a camera directly onto the focuser tube as well, so the screw thread on the focuser tube is also utilised for that if you unscrew the end part off.

There might be a t thread on the end of the focuser, but I don't it is. The eyepiece holder needs to be attached to the draw tube somehow and using a threaded attachment is the most efficient way of doing it.
