Hi, just wondering what would be the better choice for lunar imaging with my canon 760d . canon 55-250 ii or a skywatcher star travel 80 or something else between £100-£150

My vote would be a 90 mm Mak, the focal length is just right to fill the frame on a DSLR cropped sensor and is very sharp.

Yes, this one https://www.firstlightoptics.com/maksutov/skywatcher-skymax-90-ota.html, I have the Celestron version which is as far as I know identical there is a quick image I did in this thread.

My first 'scope was a Skymax 102 and it was a lovely little scope. Easy to use and great views.

Looking at the c90 it says something about a threaded DSLR connection , is the skymax as well suited to a camera?

The skymax looks to have the same threaded connection as the C90 for direct connection to a DSLR with a T adapter but cant be sure if it has the same focus range so you might also need an extra 50 mm T extension tube. I have found this makes a very solid stable connection unlike some cheaper refractors that have issues with the drawtube sagging with the weight of a camera attached, the only slight negative point is that you do get a little bit of vignetting with a DSLR but it is easily corrected with "flats".
