stevear
Has anyone updated the Asteroid data for Megastar v5? If you read the following instruction it looks simple but I cannot figure out how to unzip the file astorb.dat.gz Please see the instruction here:- http://www.willbell.com/software/megastar/solarsystem.htm I have gzip.exe to unzip but it just will not do anything i.e. unzip the file. Does anyone have a copy of the updated file asteroid.lwl that will bring all the asteroid orbits and ephemeris upto date? I would really appreciate a copy. I have tried emailing Willmann Bell directly but they never answer. Thanks Steve

stevear
Hi Julian, It worked - fantastic! with thanks to you. Asteroid data now agrees with the MPC ephemeris. Many thanks and clear skies. Steve

Many thanks and clear skies. Steve PS. I have also updated the comet data on Megastar v5 but now get a message saying 'unable to compute coordinates - no convergence' this comes up twice before Megastar will load. I am assuming that two comets in the MPC data either have bad data entries or have incomplete data. Has anyone else had this problem?
