NGC 3184 galaxy in Ursa major

Visible with a small telescope, NGC 3184 has an apparent magnitude of 9.8 and a diameter of 6.9 arc minutes. It is oriented face on, with a small nucleus and long sprawling spiral arms. This type Sbc galaxy has striking blue spiral arms, with many pink star forming regions. Two of the largest of these HII regions are named NGC 3180 and NGC 3181
