Binocular Sky Newsletter, February 2017

Recommended Posts

Oops, forgot to announce this! :-)

The latest edition of the Binocular Sky Newsletter is ready. As well as the usual overview of DSOs, variable and double stars, this month we have:

   * Several lunar occultations, including grazes of 81 Tau and Aldebaran
   * Vesta is nice and easy to find at the beginning of the month
   * A mini-review of the Oberwerk Ultra 10x50 binocular

To grab your (free!) copy, or to subscribe (also free) and receive it monthly, please go to http://binocularsky.com and click on the 'Newsletter' tab. I hope you find it useful.

A bit of a heads up for comet Encke. I saw it in a telescope this evening but i think it might be visible in 15x70s. It's around  mag. 7.5 in the vicinity of Venus, a few degrees above Omega Piscium. You need a clear western horizon though.
