In daylight I noticed this damage to the lead of my mains-powered Canon Battery Eliminator:

I guess that when assembling in the dark, the rubber flip-down flap must have flipped back, and the cable got trapped by the battery box lid.

I'm glad I spotted it before the two cores shorted - or even worse, before they went intermittent and caused hours of grief trying to find the cause.

Imagers - check your cables !
