Hi,

Thought it was time I stopped lurking and said hi, and thanks for the great forum. I fall in to the category of massive space geek but very little telescope experience but looking to build this in to a life long hobby, current telescope (wanna be) not withstanding.

I am the proud (read ashamed and infuriated) owner of an Argos special but looking to upgrade to a real setup soon so will be annoying many people on here with questions so be warned ;)

Thanks.

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum. We all start somewhere and always want a better scope

Most of the named objects in the sky were discovered using very basic scopes but with the advantage of dark skies.

Go to a dark sky site and you have an instant and free upgrade .

Enjoy yourself and feel free to ask, someone will have an answer.

John
