Anti vibration pad

Yes they do work.

I've got a set of Meade ones that I use with my LX-90.     What they do is help to dampen out the vibrations quicker.  Their usefulness really depends on the surface they are on and the amount of vibrations that they need to deal with.

For example, on a lawn, in a suburban garden away from traffic, they're likely to have a minimal effect.

On a tarmac driveway, near to a busy road they will be more useful.

What they do is help to damp out the vibrations coming through the ground.  The lawn, already does this to an extent.  As tarmac transmits the vibrations better, the have more to dampen out.
