Countersunk screws / bolts

Could someone please let me know where i might be able to get some countersunk bolts / screws for dovetail clamps which sink into the holes so they don't catch the dovetail? I do have a couple already but need 4 more and can't seem to find them anywhere.

Have you tried Ebay. There are lots of suppliers who stock allsorts of nuts, bolts, screws and washers. Usually free postage too. If you need them quicker try an engineering works near you. Hope this helps.

Just put stainless steel screws into search on EBay, the cap screw type usually have smaller heads which fit down the holes in the dovetail.

Thanks chaps, I will have a look there. I had looked on Teleskop Express as i thought they would have stocked them but couldn't find any as i ideally wanted blacks ones to match the mount.

Some of the custom car builders sites do black anodised stainless steel screws.

Protruding screws at either end of your dovetail could prevent your telescope sliding off if the locking screws release unexpectedly.

I agree. I always have the uppermost bolt hole filled with a bolt that protrudes on purpose and usually have this touching the clamp.

If you let me know the size - thickness and length you need and your address (by PM) I will pop 4 in the post for you. We are (amongst other things) boat builders and  we have thousands of Stainless Steel 316 nuts, bolts and  screws in stock. No charge.
