Venus tonight

Lovely session observing Venus in between the clouds this evening, plus Hydor (73 Aqr) shining relatively bright and clearly red at mag 3.75 in the same fov at 36x.

A passer by told me he'd heard on a radio phone in talking about Venus. A caller had apparently said she thought it was the 'star of Bethlehem' Oh my golly

Then I shoved the SLR in the 2.5x barlow in the 2x barlow and hand guided on the eq3 to take some video. I processed it with very low expectations as focus was challenging.

There's no detail, but focus is reasonable and considering the gear I'm quite happy. I know what my first targets will be when I purchase a proper mount - planets
