Hello

Iv been doing abit of research on this as I want a light grab and go tracking platform, will this take the weight of ed80 with dslr?? or is that too much weight for it?

It would be close to max payload, but in practice it will be too heavy.

At 5kg (thats what my ED80, finder and DSLR weighed) you are at the limit, being at the limit for imaging is somewhere i wouldn't want to go.

I've used DSLR and ST80 which is a bit lighter than the ED80 on my SWSA, I have used it for solar imaging with over 5Kg and extra counterweight but that was using video so more forgiving.

Presently using DSLR and 300mm at about 3Kg which works well

What about using a Lightwave 70mm?

would it be over the limit for imaging then?

In all honesty, I think these are a brilliant mount......for dslr/lens combo. This is My opinion only so make of it what you will
