Beginners for video astronomy -guidance

Recommended Posts

Been considering trying something locally for the kids and thought that that if I could set up a telescope with a suitable camera (I've a Touptek 4.75um 1280x960 colour that I've not used yet) and feed to a large screen...

I was looking in the beginner section, and I didn't see anything for video

Looking for guidance as to suitable software that will 'build up' animate - like real time stacking.

Sharpcap is what I use for real time stacking.  Feeding to a large screen could be achieved using a secondary video port on your laptop/PC or remote connecting to the PC e.g. Teamviewer, RDP, VNC etc.

Hi

Starlight Live is great for the Starlight Xpress cameras, Lodestars in particular.

Both this and Sharpcap run on a PC/Laptop so you'll need a HDMI output to a large screen.
