Mars and Neptune

Recommended Posts

Mars and Neptune (top left) are close enough tonight to fit on the Lodestar chip (40'x30' in my 8" F4 scope). This is a capture from a few minutes ago in RGB, 4x10s in each, linear brightness, live combined in StarlightLive v3.2 . Triton is visible just below Neptune.

Wow! What a result, tiny Triton is clear as a bell and Neptune's colour has come out very nicely. What a nice way to spend New Year's eve. :)

Thanks everyone. Shame I couldn't control Mars a little more... Rob, I was happy to see Triton because seeing was pretty poor. My aim is still to capture Nereid one day (mag 19.5 or so)

Awesome capture, Martin! I recently imaged Venus and Neptune, and Mars and Uranus myself.
