Vincent_G
Hello! I got a new Meade Polaris 130mm (5.1 inch) reflector scope for Christmas. I know I will be able to see it, but how detailed should M81 be? Thanks!
rockystar
This isn't far off the view I had the other night through my 8" at a reasonably dark site: http://www.perezmedia.net/beltofvenus/archives/001475.html Your view may be a bit smaller, but given a good sky, you'll get a good view. laudropb
Much will depend on the sky conditions, but given a clear dark sky you will get nice views.
ronl
As both replies above, and it also depends which eyepiece you were using, with a 25mm you should get both m81 and 82 in the same field of view, even with a bit of L P you should get the view in the link above, you won't get a view you get from a photograph. Good luck and Clear Sky's.
