EQ8 Power connector polarity

Does anyone happen to know the polarity of the 2-pin EQ8 power connectors?

The supplied plug itself has the two pins numbered 1 & 2, and from looking at the supplied documentation it appears the pin numbered 2 is the +ve - I also confirmed this was connected to the centre pin on the cigar lighter plug. However, having now cut the cigar plug off, when I try it with a multimeter pin 1 is connected to the white-dashed wire - I thought by convention white dashes indicated +ve, so this is opposite to what I expected?

Fairly sure pin 2 is +ve, but trying to avoid a blown circuit board, so any help would be appreciated.

Just a small funny thing about the EQ8 power supply plug...

The mount still has the diagram for a regular 5.5mm plug with center tap plus painted on it.

It's funny this stays on for years after introduction there since the mount has never been sold to the public with a 5.5mm plug. 

Does your mount have that diagream Chris-A?
