how do I install a Baader MPCC III

Hi everyone. Apart from a remarkably verbose set of instructions in German, here is the English version:

Technical details:
-- diameter: 2"
-- camera side connection: M48 and T2
-- Focus distance from the T2 thread: 55 mm
-- Focus distance from the M48 thread: 58mm (to reach 55mm from the M48 thread, you need the TSVF203 extension)

I have 3 bits. The cc, the thin ring and a t2 adaptor. If I remove the thin ring and the t2 adaptor, I have a m48 thread. Question, how do I fix the MPCC to a Canon m48-EOS adaptor? Do I have all the parts in the box which I need? Evidently not! Anyone? TIA.

I think normally it just screws into a standard m48 t-ring on the camera. Not sure if you need to also use the thin adjustment ring to get the spacing right :) Probably you do!

ps looks like you need the above extension with m48. Clearly you can use as-is with a standard t2 ring

Thanks Louise. I thought this was going to be third time lucky: GSO, SW and now Baader. How wrong could I be! With the thin adjustment ring in place, there is no m48 thread left! Are coma correctors designed to be as cryptic as possible?

Everything astro is cryptic until you've successfully done it! I've only used my cc with a ccd so needed extension tubes for it anyway. At least you have a choice - extension tube for m48 or standard t2 :)

If you want to use the M48 thread, the only way AFAIK is to use both the Baader Protective T-ring

and the Baader M48 Spacer for MPCC III Coma Corrector
