Congrats both.

Did Olly vote for Tom, and Tom for Olly?

;);):p:p

 I wouldn't vote for that nutter if you paid me! He had me out night after night in the freezing winter shooting loads of pictures with nothing but stars in them... :BangHead:

If you know my stuff and Tom's you'll see straight off that those reds, with a touch of blue in them, are his and not mine. Neither of us knows why we get different reds from the same data! So the proper credit for this image is Tom and Olly, not the other way round. He did the lion's share on this one.

Thanks for the nice comments, folks. We're both very grateful.

It's a cracking Image Olly/Tom. The duration must be a record though, 400 hours?  I don't know where you get the patience from, must be
very stressful, although it was obviously over a period of weeks, perhaps months ?
I've only become aware of the EAPOD Image competition, as recently as when one of our Moderators, Rob. Preston  got the award with his
Gamma Cygni mosaic.
Just out of interest, out of ten Committee members  I see there are three SGL'ers, Sara, Tom, and Olly.
I know Stu. made a quip about voting, but who does actually decides the best Image to receive the Monthly  Accolade.

Years, Ron. Tom started it and did all the Lum and some of the colour from his dark site in Spain. Had work not called him back to the real world he'd have done the lot on his own. Work did call him back so we teamed up, put two Taks on one mount here, and I shot a lot of remaining colour panels. I also did the high resolution overlays for some of the tasty bits, though these don't show much till you see the 1.3 gig version which, for reasons of security, we are sadly unable to post at this stage. When Tom brought his own 'spare' Tak down here we did, on one memorable night, knock out 24 hours of data, all good. Big thanks to Yves  who owns one of the cameras/filterwheels and Macs used in the capture.
