Clear forecast on Friday 2/12, the Sun set around 15:30 now, got off work earlier for a long planned dark site trip.

Wind: 2-1m/s(forecast 3-2m/s),

Temp: 1° to -3°(forecast 1° to -1°)

Humidity: 72-89(forecast 72-94%) dewheater on (partly wet car)

SQM 20.6-20.7(slightly brighter than usual, Christmas decoration?) transparency good, almost cloudless

NGC7457, g-Pegasus, mag11.0(SB13.2): 71x, Direct vision(DV), bright core, oval, position angle(PA)60°

7512, g-Pegasus, 12.7(13.5): averted vision(AV) in 71x & 123x, around 130x best, round, bright core

7514, g-Pegasus, 12.8(12.8): AV in 150-180x, oval, PA150

7515, g-Pegasus, 12.5(13.3): AV in 71x, 123x, round patch

14, g-Pegasus, 11.8(13.5): AV in 71x and 123x, 170x too much, round faint patch

54, g-Cetus, 13.7(13.0): faint, bright core with some neb in AV made it suspected in 71x , 123x AV better, elongated, PA50

73, g-Cetus, 12.8(13.3): Bright core, 71x & 123x AV, oval, PA30

399, g-Cetus, 13.6(12.8): faint, 71x suspected in AV, 123x -150x zoom better, faint fpatch. 170x invisible

403, g-Cetus, 12.4(12.2): AV in 71x and 123x, oval, PA60

and that's my 800th NGC:hello2: After a short break, it's time for full speed on some low Heschel 400, I had yet 26 to be seen.

 

584, g-Cetus, 10.4(12.0), H400: DV in 71x, bright round core, AV show oval shape, PA60

586, g-Cetus, 13.2(13.4): Same FOV as 584, AV in 71x, brighter core, PA170

596, g-Cetus, 10.8(12.5), H400: DV in 71x, bright core, oval shape, PA180

613, g-Cetus, 9.9(13.0), H400: already below horizon,:BangHead: remain in the list for next time.

615, g-Cetus, 11.7(13.1), H400: DV in 71x, bright elongated core, AV larger shape, PA120

720, g-Cetus, 10.2(12.4), H400: DV in 71x, about round, AV show oval shape, PA150

772, g-Aries, 10.3(13.8), H400: DV in 71x, oval shape, PA150

770, g-Aries, 13.0(12.6): under 772, faint, 71x AV suspected, 123x AV round patch

1084, g-Eridanus, 10.6(12.5), H400: DV in 71x, oval shape, PA30

1097(Caldwell 67), g-fornax, 9.5(13.7), only about 2° above horizon, nothing more than a few faint starts:dink:

Any, totally 25 new galaxies :happy3: after 6 hours under

Interesting, I recorded an unusually bright 20.9 at my Northumberland dark site last night (latitude 55 degrees), also with very good transparency and no cloud. Looks like there may have been auroral activity brightening the sky. Well done on your excellent session: I only did 2 hours and 8 galaxies before deciding I was too tired to continue, much as I hate packing up under a clear sky.
