Astrith
After following the ASI 1600 cool thread on camera discussions decided to join the ZWO ASI 1600 mono people..so to speak . I am a new convert to this super camera. First time with mono and very happy with the result . Taken with an Altair Astro 72 ED and a Baader 7nm Ha filter..... 30 x 30 sec lights and 30 x 30 sec darks . North American Nebula. Best regards..|Alan
ollypenrice
I looked at the image first and thought it was very noisy. Then I read that this is just a 15 minute capture and thought that it wasn't very noisy at all! For all that this camera is not like the regular CCD astro cameras I do think that 30 seconds is very short for Ha - but what do I know? On the other hand 15 minutes is nothing in Ha and you have an image. I suspect we'd all like to see this again after 4 hours or so. Olly
Singlin
My view on this camera is one of intrigue, The same way as snow canons intrigued me when they first came out. They made enough snow to cover a ski run in 10 days but the quality of the snow was not perfect. The snow canons of today differ in that the snow quality is now excellent. The ASI 1600 intrigues me in the same as snow canons did when they first came out.

SonnyE
As a new convert to Mono, I would like to see what you would come up with using filters. I'm a OSC myself, but very curious about Mono. (I have yet to be successful stacking anything but cans. I stack with time.)

However the bank account is a little depleted . Heres hoping that Santa visits....Alan.
Tommohawk
I''ve been looking at this camera with interest too - it really does seem to perform on DSO, and passable on planetary too I would think with 3.8 micron pixels and 80 fps at 640x480. Heres hoping Santa visits me before Alan!
