Walking on the Moon

All the spots and an "explosion" too! 29th Nov

I actually pulled the curtains today to keep the sun out while I worked on an essay (deadline tomorrow). The I saw the spots here on the forum, and in particular Steve's animation of the AR in H-Alpha, and that was it... Hume's notion of causation will have to wait.

Love the action in the new AR! Space weather says this: "A new and potentially active sunspot is emerging. It emitted a C7-class solar flare on Nov. 29th." So I presume that's what the "explosion" is in the animation below.(46 frames over 24 minutes)

Been waiting for an animation from you Iain, good work.

Thanks for making that sacrifice and tearing yourself away from working

I only get a couple of 10min gaps now so no chance of an animation, did start a mosaic today as there was no wind or cloud for what seems to be months.

Thanks Dave. I still get the sun for about 3 hours solid these days (I mean ,weather permitting, which is almost never) but it's "inches" above the roof of the neighbour's bungalow the whole time, so seeing is never going to be good.
