At Last :-) Skywatcher solar/daytime align!!

I've been frustrated for years that Skywatcher had no daytime/solar system align unlike Celestron, which made solar set up so much harder than it needed to be.  But they have finally done it   I've just upgraded the software on the v4 handset from my Merlin mount and the option is there at last!  Now just need some sun to properly test it   But the Merlin is looking a neat option for the eclipse next year (and other travelling too) - thanks for the advice @DrRobin

Which version of the software are you using - I can't find the option  in the x.x.38 version for my EQ5.

I've got a version 4 handset and downloaded the latest software v4_38_09 from the skywatcher site

With it you get an extra option under alignment saying 'Daytime'

Do you also use the PanoramaApp with your Merlin? It's for using the mount for panoramic photography, on Photosby Gav's site there is a page on the Merlin and that.

From what I read elsewhere, I believe this feature is not available on EQ mounts. My EQ8 certainly doesn't have it even with the latest firmware.

You can add a user object in most handsets, had to do this with my Meade.

Yep, that's the conclusion I've come to as well
