cloudsweeper
If not stargazing (or thinking about/planning stargazing), what are all you good folk doing? Watching TV not a permissible answer. It might be a long-term further interest, or something you're just involved with at present. My "thing" is trying to figure out the maths. of General Relativity. Tensors and the like. It might take some time..... Doug.
Peter Drew
I have no TV so if I'm unable to star gaze then I'm forced to do something like constructing or modifying astronomical equipment.
JB80
I haven't really done much stargazing at all of late but have taken at least during the day time to gardening and bonsai. That is helped by the fact that our garden needs lots and lots of work to get it close to where we want it so there is plenty to do. Plus lots of little DIY jobs too. By night sleep kicks in much earlier these days but I'm ok with that.
John
I fish occasionally, do some gardening, browse antiques, travel with my other half and try and keep vaguely in touch with what my kids are up to. Maths would be the last thing I'd do I'm afraid

Davesellars
My two young daughters (1.5 and 3.5 yrs old) seem to soak up all other available time... I do a fair amount of cooking which I love especially when I have the time to experiment a bit... Also, I have an allotment which is really only certain times of the year to tend to - mainly I just like to get away from the chaos.
Putaendo Patrick
Is dreaming allowed? More specifically I run a very humble cultural centre, and I'm investigating buying a sound reinforcement system for small events - music, itinerant theatre etc. A million small details to investigate, it seems! alacant
My gf made me re-pot some geraniums, didn't bring me a beer and made me sweep up afterwards. Then complained about my not tidying up after drilling a hole in a dovetail. I then had to contend with what's-the-point-in-drilling-a-hole-in-a-dovetail-when-you-should-be-taking-me-out-to-dinner type comments. All this at twilight beneath perfectly clear skies with not a telescope in sight. It's England-Spain at Wembley tomorrow.

Alfian
I read the many astronomy books and magazines bought to inform and enhance my observing pleasures - when the clouds clear. I do a lot, a very lot, more reading than viewing. I have dabbled with Linux as an operating system for many years and now its my mainstay OS and 'though a near perfect GUI for me I still have a lot to learn regarding the command line - more reading. From a childhood spent in part bicycling past old and disused 2nd WW American airfields, I have become quite interested in the history of the mainly American 8th Air Force whose bomb groups and squadrons that were based there. There's a lot archive stuff on line plus more books to read. The B17G avatar reflects this interest.

ejp1684
Process the spectra I've taken using BASS software. Dream up more things to add to the scope. I've already made an Arduino controlled focuser, and a dew controller. Have a lithium battery on order and will make a case for it using the 3D printer. Learn a few more constellations using Stellarium Reading history books, especially ancient Greece. Learning watercolour painting. Learning Blender (the most complicated piece of software I've ever come across...)
Roy Challen
I'll be out on my mountain bike - definitely not a weather dependent hobby, or doing archery, or air rifle target shooting, but mainly out on the bike.
brantuk
Well I built a new rocker box for my dob over the summer which needs painting up - and I'll add a matching Moonlite focuser for a finishing touch (think the missus is getting me the focuser for Xmas). I've gotta put some shelves up and wire in the last two of fourteen speakers in our recent home theater system upgrade. I've got some minor repair work to do on the caravan replacing a window seal. And I'm driving her indoors crazy by avidly following the progress of brexit and trump, my latest new hobby. But please don't start discussing it lol.

I have a number of volumes by Kaplan et al, the "looking back" sort of thing. And a neighbour used to relate how as a boy he'd stand on a farm gate in Norfolk and watch B17s coming and going. Kim - remember to act surprised when you get the focuser. I shall be surprised when I get my GPS Module. As for the other stuff, Yes, it can drive you crazy. Say no more!
