So glad after booking a tent pitch I had a change of heart...( more of a realisation I would be pitching in the dark ) so, changed the booking to a POD instead. I can leave my Sledghammer at home

Also, I didnt think folks would take too kindly to me shinning search light torches everywhere and anywhere while looking for a tent peg straightener  :iamwithstupid:

We might need those super tent pegs to hold the tents down in the wind flowing around the high pressure system...

sorry for the late response; I've been told I'm not allowed to come next weekend as it's mother's day :(

sounds like it's going to be a lot fun.

Have you tried telling whoever has told you this that they are displaying unacceptable behaviour?

Mother's Day was invented by the American gift card industry. It is Fake News!

The stars are real and we have a duty to observe them

Disagreeing with the wife isn't a good move for future camps, Derek.

especially as my work in April is going to have me staying away from home a night a week.

in a couple of years' time, the kids will be old enough to bring with me (one of them at least)

Mrs 73 did inform me that the star camp was on Mothering Sunday. I informed her that she was not my mother and thanked her for an interesting FYI.

Here's to some clear dark sky!

Yes solicitors seem to be almost as happy as barristers :happy8: On the bright side at least you are not divorced from your scope

On the "Mothers Day" - Fortunately, both our Mothers are understanding and fair. We will see them some other time and take flowers etc. It doesnt mean we think any less of them. It means we will have something to talk about that is different :)

On a more sunny note...Take a look at this forcecast :happy1::happy3::happy10: from ClearOutside website.

https://clearoutside.com/forecast/53.02/-1.73?view=midday

and this is why I really want to come. My first and only star party (so far) was a complete cloud fest.

I'm still going to get out somewhere dark, but it'll just be for the evening.

I look on star parties as a welcome break from family life......

Wife sees Star Parties as a relatively "low risk" option.
