Affinity Photo?

Has anyone tried Affinity Photo on a Mac in lieu of Photoshop?

It looks to have lots of equivalent functions and the £40.00 one-off payment is very attractive.

I tried the demo version of Affinity Photo and it worked OK on my mac.

But there is certainly very limited astro processing info for it, very limited tutorials and no astro actions that I am aware of.

Macphun are about to release another full image processing package called Luminar and it is available at special pricing right now.

 

That said the adobe photographers package is only £8.57 per month and for that you get Lightroom and Photoshop and they are updated at least twice each year with the latest features.

I have used that for coming up to two years and its great.
