Current Thinking On Canon Control and Mount Control

Hello all

Can I ask what is the current thinking and methods on the following things. There seems to be some really old YouTube videos of how to control your mount and control your camera but I would like to hear what is the latest wisdom on the following:

Eq6 Mount Control? Stellarium? Eqmod? Handset? Bluetooth?

Canon camera exposure control. Aptool? Intervalometer? Laptop? iOS app??? Is that even possibile? 

I have a Eq6 pro but I would love to know what the most current way of doing these things are. 

It's mainly for imaging.

My mount is an HEQ5 Pro and I use EQMOD, wireless Xbox controller and CdC.
For guiding and camera control I use the Lacerta MGEN 2, which also dithers.

I use an Eq6 via eqmod /carte du ciel and APT to control canon 1000D  all done via a laptop

I use a AZ EQ6-GTQ mount, stellarium controlled by Eqmod. I use a Canon DSLR and programme the exposures with APT. I use a Logitech game pad controller  and PHD2 for guiding.
