JemC
Permission for garden observatory/shed has been granted by you know who what ever i end up with must be able to store the rest of my astro stuff as well (she says) so i think that probably rules out a dome or pod? as im going to need shelving for my bits and bobs/tubs, 2nd scope and tripod, pc, monitor and other bits i already have a 9ftx8ft garden shed which is in pretty reasonable condition, so do i set about strengthening that and making a few changes to it or would it be cheaper to start from scratch? my pier is already installed in garden and in use, so shed would need moving to pier location, which is only a few feet, i was thinking maybe use existing shed, change current roof from apex to flat/pent roll off using Onduline sheets, obviously more thought needs to go into it before i commit to any work being started, thoughts anyone :-)

mwayne
Sounds like your existing 9 x 8 shed will be good for storage and warm room, add either a ROR or dome onto it :-)
