What is the purpose of the line on the polar finderscope?

Hi Guys,

I'm just installing and aligning a new polar finderscope on my CG-5.  I've switched the grub screws for the thumbscrews already on the mount.  I've aligned the rotation with a local TV aerial, but I'm confused as to the purpose of this white line currently aligned with 23/1 on the setting circle.:

Explanations gratefully received.

Sorry I often loose track of threads as I reply in so many. Great to hear you got it all sorted and I shall try to find the thread to catch up. Which one was it you updated as I remember you had a couple going ??
