Andromeda M31

Hey all, first attempt at Andromeda, first post here, first image in the northern hemisphere!

Moved to the netherlands for work so a bunch of fresh targets to image!

Canon 7d ISO 1600 100mm at f-4.6  23*5 min subs.

I think I pushed it a little far but still pretty happy with it.  

Constructive criticism is welcome!

That's a nice Andromeda with lovely dust lanes. The only criticism one could have is that the core seems overexposed or over stretched. Other than that: great image.

Thanks Wim, yeah I couldn't seem to keep the core under control and get good/any detail in the dust lanes. Better curves adjustments needed I think!

There is / was a vid on Y'Tube, by Nik Szymanek I think, on getting nice dust lanes in M31, something to do with using a brush in shadow mode I vaguely recall.

Thanks guys, I've reprocessed and fixed some of the issues, but I think it maybe a bit harsh still. Oh well, always learning.

A much better core. The background is darker in your reprocessed image, giving it the harsh appearance. Should be easy to adjust.
