M31 first try.

Recommended Posts

After what I can only say was on odd night last night.

Lots of cloud then clear. Set up had a quick look around all looking good. Ran in to grab my camera and laptop and spent 10 minutes trying to work out why the camera was not working correctly.

The one thing I did not check. Above my head. It was a full blanket of cloud. Not one star in the sky could be seen. Then the mist appeared like thick smoke.

Went back in for a couple ciders and can you believe it....

CLEAR SKIES!!

Managed to get this but only 35 90 second exposures @ iso1600 so will look at adding more when I get the chance.

Only been taking images for a few weeks now but slowly learning more every time. Any advice welcome.

Cheers All,

Spill

Hi,

Thanks for the encouragement.

I was using the eq5 pro with the celestron c6-n scope (fully flocked) along with my canon 1100d (not modded). Stacked in DSS and finished off using startools.

Hopefully I can get in a couple of hours data tonight to add to it.

Cheers,

Spill.
