I hope they improve the first two images on that link? I've seen better quality through an 8" and I'm even further back from Jupiter!
Their not particularly clear for a NASA image?

They were taken from 4.4 million km away as opposed to the 2600 km it's designed to image from, I'm sure the first proper data will be amazing.

...... we hope so! but my tiny little 8" telescope  is 588 Million miles away, the image is small, but I have seen more detail than that depicted by the NASA link, hence my quote. I'm sure other folk will have seen better too!
Hubble was not perfect when it first went up?

I just saw this on the NASA website, Steve - a beautiful image :smile:

Apparently that was taken at 48,000 miles above the atmosphere so there will surely be some treats to come when the close-ups from 2,500 miles are released :cool:
