Walking on the Moon

August 23rd - H Alpha - Very Quiet Prominence-Wise.

I had a session early on, 6.49 am to 6.59 am, before I had to go out.  Back home and still nice, very unusual !!  The sun is very quiet in terms of prominences, perhaps it's trying to match up with the white light view!  At least there are quite a few small filaments - though don't talk loudly about this or they might just vanish so we have a dormant sun, ha ha.

Single frame taken with Lunt 60 Ds, Olympus E-M10, 500 asa, 1/80 sec, taken at 6.53 am.

Very nice. It took me an hour to find my tilt adapter and barlows this morning so I lost that precious first part of the morning! As you say, not much prom action, though the double spot and another AR looked good. Animation coming soon

Nicely done. Clear blue skies and very quite sun 2 typical!  Still reasonably interesting on H/A though.

Thanks Pete.  Yes, in the coming years it's going to be a fairly fallow period for those who only observe in WL unfortunately.

Thanks Iain, I'll take a look to see if you've posted the animation yet.
