Just got an unexpected bit of blue sky so whizzed out and rolled the obs'y roof off, fired up the laptop and Windows has deleted Firecapture AGAIN, seems to think it's a virus.

By the time I'd reinstalled it the clouds were back :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

Are you sure Windows is doing it rather than your AV software?  I have had Firecapture running under both Win 7 and 10 and it is fine.

No AV software only Windows 7 stuff, it used to do it regularly but hasn't done it for a while ?

If you go to properties on Firecapture (maybe the .exe file?) you can switch it to "only run as administrator".  If you do that you get a warning box on start-up for you to OK (assuming you are logged on as Admin).  That should persuade Windows that you are in control!!

I've used FC on windows vista (I know), 7 and 10 (current). No issue of getting wiped out.

But I have had occasional problems where FC will not capture anything after about 1.5 hrs of operation. I either have to reboot laptop or switch to sharpcap.

fyi I'm using FC 2.5beta (maybe that's the reason).
