Solar HA limb after Lucy-R deconvolution

Recommended Posts

I have been having a go at using Lucy Richardson deconvolution instead of just Unsharp Mask for my Ha solar images.  I found a TIFF file I could do a comparison on.  This is the Easern limb on 12 July.  The original (false colour) JPEG is shown first.  Then I ran the stack through Lucy-R deconvolution and kept it black and white because I found enough contrast was gained without false colour.  I found the line between too little and too much quite difficult to find.  The major plus was that I didn't have to run through selection masks to get the proms to stand out. Anyway I present the initial results here and I do like the result I must say.  All credit to Michael Wilkinson for his suggestions.
